Freddy has a BFA in Screenwriting from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. He was the only student from his graduating class to complete two feature length scripts. The first was the original 2-part pilot for TAINTED, which was completed during the first semester of his senior year, allowing him to write a second thesis script, Saving Sandy. This feature was nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Screenwriting at SVA's 12th Annual Dusty Awards.
Beyond college, Freddy has continued writing features and television pilots. In 2001, he moved to Los Angeles where he worked various jobs on shows like "7th Heaven", "8 Simple Rules...", "A.U.S.A.", "Quintuplets", "Men In Trees", "Ben & Kate", "Dads", "The Last Man on Earth", and "Superstore."
To date, he has completed eight television pilot scripts and five feature screenplays.
In 2009, his script, HAVEN (fka Leaving Hazard), won The Best Drama Feature Screenplay Award at The Cinema City International Film Festival. Saving Sandy was also a finalist at the festival.
In 2015, his screenplay, Zombie Cruise, was a Finalist in The Stage 32 2nd Annual Search for New Blood Screenwriting Contest.
And in 2016, his pilot script, Optimus V was a Finalist in the WeScreenplay's WETV Television Writing Competition and HAVEN (fka Leaving Hazard) was a Quarter-Finalist in the 2016 WeScreenplay Feature Contest.
In 2017, Zombie Cruise was named an Official Selection at the 2017 Bloodstained Indie Film Festival.
In 2019, his pilot, The Unwanted, was a Finalist in the Filmmatic Drama Screenplay Awards.
In 2020, The Unwanted, was a Finalist in the Inroads Screenwriting Fellowship.
In 2021, Freddy was a Semifinalist for the 2021 Walt Disney Television Writing Fellowship.
Also in 2021, Optimus V was named a Semifinalist in the 2021 Screencraft TV Pilot Screenplay Competition.
That same year, Transient was named a Quarter-Finalist in the Emerging Screenwriters Genre Screenplay Competition.
Most recently, both Optimus V and The Unwanted were named Semi-Finalists in the 2021 ISA Sci-Fi & Fantasy Genre Busting Screenplay Competition.
